Turkey Day at The Coral Springs Resort in St. George
Golf, beautiful resort, sun, good food and amazing hikes, no better place to spend the holidays than at the Coral Springs Resort! Our family was getting tired of the same old Thanksgiving routine and we wanted to branch out. We booked two 3 bedroom suites at the Coral Springs Resort. This blog is a rundown on what we did over the holiday weekend to give you some ideas for your next trip to St. George, Utah.
We arrived to the resort late Wednesday night and had a fantastic night sleep in the big comfy beds. The next morning we headed to the Sand Hollow Golf Resort.
It was a wonderful day with excellent weather. For an excellent price we were able to play 18 holes of golf with a cart, enjoy a breakfast and hit a bucket of balls before the turkey shoot began.
If you are going to play this course next Thanksgiving make sure to arrival early to enjoy the breakfast and warm up. One of the highlights of the day was when I sunk the longest put of my life! Roughly 50 feet from the hole I sank the put and surprised myself so much I started yelling out-loud. Note: that is frowned upon on a nice course like this, but I couldn’t help myself. Below is a picture of the distance on that put.
Bucca Di Beppo for Thanksgiving dinner…. Why not?
If you have ever been to St. George during Thanksgiving you will know that there are very few restaurants open. However, we found a gem! Bucca Di Beppo in Washington just minutes from St. George was open and the wait wasn’t long at all. They had a Thanksgiving feast option instead of Italian food. We are big Italian food lovers so we went with their Italian dishes and loved them so much. My favorite dish was the Chicken Glorioso. This will be one Italian Thanksgiving dinner I will never forget.
Zion National Park – Emerald Pools Hike
Well the next morning we knew we all needed to work off that big Italian Thanksgiving feast! We visited the Zion National Park and hiked up the Emerald Pools trail. It was a fun hike that wasn’t too challenging so it was great for the entire family.
After working up yet another appetite we enjoyed Oscars Cafe just outside the entrance of Zion National Park. Everyone loved the food and the fun atmosphere.
That evening we heard that the the Tuacahn Theater was doing a special live nativity and light show for Christmas. We all hopped in the cars and drove over to Tuacahn. We were more than impressed with the festivities at Tuacahn. The lights were beautiful and the live nativity show that was only 2 dollars was incredible.
The next morning we tried a fun little breakfast diner called The Bear Paw. It had very unique omelet and waffles that will make you mouth water. Lets just say we did a lot of eating on this trip.
The rest of our trip we relaxed by the pool and went shopping at the Outlet Mall in St. George. We had a blast playing volley ball in the pool and played a few tennis matches. Overall this Thanksgiving trip was a blast and everyone is already making plans to come back next year!
