Surfs Up In St. George, Utah

Surfs Up in St. George

Paddle board

Surfing in the desert? You’ve got it! It’s time to load up the longboard for your next stay at Coral Springs. Don’t expect any big wave riding or gnarly barrels but what you can expect is excellent “SUP” stand up paddle boarding. Paddle boarding is a great way to soak up the sun, relax and get some great exercise.

If you don’t have a board, no worries there is a company called Digg Paddle Sports that rents kayaks and stand up paddle boards. They were host to the national paddle boarding competition last year. Owner Bill Ennis says, “Paddle boarding is growing rapidly around the country and is a great way to enjoy nature and get great exercise”.

There are two lakes within 10 minutes of Coral Springs, Sand Hollow Lake and Quail Creek. Both of these lakes provide beautiful scenery and atmosphere for kayaking and paddle boarding. Sand Hollow lake was actually host to a national paddle boarding tournament last year.
