Utah is known for its outstanding concentration of talent in the realm of theater arts. Opera, symphony, musical theater, dance – real talent abounds. Which is why I make attending Thriller part of my yearly Halloween experience. Odyssey Dance Theater represents the most skilled dance company Utah (and the surrounding area) has to offer. The company has received the “Best of State” award in dance 9 years in a row prompting professional dancers flock from miles around to join the team and put together outstanding performances; Thriller – arguably their most well-known show – is no exception.
Typically performed in Salt Lake City at Kingsbury Hall, Thriller has now made its way to southern Utah and brings the Odyssey dancers to Tuacahn starting October 25th. This is a show you will not want to miss. Thriller is themed around all the villains and heroes of Halloween. Dancers perform as Frankenstein and his wife, werewolves, mummies, clowns, scarecrows, and Jason – chainsaw and all. True to its name, the show opens and closes with Michael Jackson’s vision of zombies perusing the streets, or, in this case, aisles. Thriller incorporates humor and terror, all the while aweing the audience with outstanding physical feats.
Tickets range in price from $18.50 – $28.50 and can be purchased here.
