4 Must-See Parks in St George

Utah has the third most national parks in the United States, and it features more than 40 state parks! That shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who’s experienced the breathtaking landscapes in the area. That’s why If you’re looking to check some parks off your list, then check out southern Utah! There are a lot of parks in St George and around that area, so here we want to talk about 4 of our favorites.

1. Zions National Park


Zions National Park is one of the most famous national parks in the country. Known for its narrow slot canyons and towering sandstone monuments this park should definitely be on your bucket list! 

This park provides opportunities for scenic drives, canyoneering routes, and angels landing, an incredible hike that takes you along the edge of a cliff where you can see the whole park. 

There are so many hikes and other things to do here, so plan on spending a few days at Zion National Park and still wanting to see more.

2. Bryce Canyon National Park

Featuring the largest concentration of hoodoos on earth, this spectacular park is truly a natural wonder. The canyon consists of a number of amphitheaters and bowls filled with beautifully eroded spires and other natural monuments. 

Bryce Canyon is also an accredited dark sky park which means that there is little to no light pollution throughout the park providing an unobstructed view of the milky way and the night sky.

3. Snow Canyon State Park

Snow Canyon is one of the state parks in St George that provides something for everyone. For the outdoor enthusiasts there are options for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and canyoneering for all levels and abilities. That’s one of the reasons why this is a very popular spot for family hikes in St. George!

4. Sand Hollow State Park


Sand hollow is one of the newest parks in St George. There is a reservoir that provides options for swimming, boating, and fishing. There is also Sand Mountain inside the park which is a great place for ATV’s and other off road vehicles. The beautiful sandstone in this park is the perfect setting to enjoy any outdoor activity you can imagine. 

This is a very popular spot for Utah family reunions because of the many activities available in the park. That’s just one of the reasons why this is one of the most popular state parks to visit in Utah.
