Who doesn’t love glitter and mining for treasure? If you’re like us, those are some of your favorite things. If that’s the case then you’re going to love this St George family activity. Also known as Old Gypsum Mine or Sparkling Mountain this gypsum mine is located just outside Southern Utah, and its only a 25 minute drive from St George.
Be sure to bring your buckets as you explore this beautiful gypsum pit, and don’t forget that you can bring some sparkly treasures home with you as a souvenir! This is a fun outing, especially for the youngsters in your group.
2. Visit St. George Children’s Museum
For those days of possible rain showers or scorching heat, enjoy your time indoors at this one-of-a-kind children’s museum. With over 15 different exhibits you will be sure to find something that will pique the interest of everyone in your group!
The best part of this museum is that it was designed to encourage interaction between children and adults. The variety of exhibits will allow not only the kids to have fun and learn but also the adults! It’s open all week except for Wednesday from 10:00 am to 6:00 PM. 3. Thunder Junction Park

The Thunder Junction Park has free admission all year long, and It’s open from 9 am to 10 pm all week. While you’re in the park you can also enjoy a train ride for just $1! Thunder Junction is located inside Tonaquint Park at 1851 S. Dixie Drive, St. George.
