Tuacahn is best known for its stage productions – spectacles with elaborate special effects set against the backdrop of southern Utah’s red rock. However, the renown amphitheater also hosts shows that are more intimate in nature and better equipped to soothe rather than bedazzle, relax rather than awe. Such is the case with Tuacahn’s next concert featuring guitarist Chris Proctor.
Chris Proctor – a master of both the 6 and 12-string guitar – is as versatile as the instrument he plays. Ranging in style from blues to folk to jazz to pop, he is sure to play something that will enthrall you. Though he is a solo guitarist, his talent is such that many audience members remark that his sound seems to be from multiple musicians playing at the same time. One critic noted, “What Proctor does is create guitar music that reflects the whole heritage of the instrument and still has his own distinct stamp — a tall order, but he’s up to the job.”
