St. George is the perfect place to enjoy outdoor family activities. Last November, a new family-friendly park at the Hell Hole Trailhead in Washington City was officially opened. The newest of parks in St George features a Ninja Warrior-style obstacle course, called the Canyons Park and Hell Hole Trailhead at Sienna Hills.
This park is a good place to take the little ones, with plenty of space to run, walk and play. But it’s also a cool place for the rest of your family. This park is the first of its kind in Southern Utah with several unique amenities.
Things to Do in St George’s All-Abilities Park
This newest park in St George provides easy access for walkers, runners, and cyclists to a trail system through Cottonwood Canyon and along the scenic Virgin River. It also includes a challenging Ninja Style Obstacle Course for fitness enthusiasts of all ages, as well as fast-moving slides, rope climbing, and a playground.
Also, you’ll find a cluster of picnic tables and a shade structure sitting in the middle of the park which stretches down the hillside opposite the obstacle course, and a 40-yard dash track that has become increasingly popular with locals and tourists.
According to St. George News: “The new park cost $1.2 million and was funded by impact fees. Equipment used for the obstacle course came from GameTime, which builds regular playground equipment as well as obstacle course packages”.
The Canyons Park and Hell Hole Trailhead are located directly south of the Washington Parkway-Telegraph Street intersection. If you are planning a vacation to St. George don’t miss the opportunity to visit this new park and enjoy it with the whole family!
