Angels Landing Hike – Breathtaking Views

There is no better time to visit Southern Utah than the Fall. My entire family went to the Coral Springs Resort for the Thanksgiving weekend. The resort is located about 7 minutes Northeast of downtown St. George and is right on the way to Zion National Park.

When we arrived my family was very impressed with how spacious the suite was. We had a group of seven and we were able to sleep comfortably in the resort’s 3 bedroom suite option. After we were settled in it was time to map out some adventures for the holiday weekend. One exciting hike we wanted to try was the Angels Landing in Zion National Park. We learned that this hike would take about 4 hours so we decided to go early the next morning.

The weather was beautiful; about 70 degrees when we arrived at the park entrance. We parked and took the complimentary shuttle up to the trail-head  The scenery was breathtaking! We started our climb up the red rock switchbacks. The nice part about the hike is you can go at your own pace and there is plenty of trail room for others to pass at their own speeds.

Beautiful views

After the switchbacks of the hike we made it to the final stage of the hike. In this final stage you have to hold onto a chain as you climb a very narrow rock to the final view. If you are afraid of heights you might want to think twice before attempting the last part of this hike. If you can handle it you will be very happy you did. The view at the top of Angels Landing is indescribable, you feel like you are on top of the world.

I recommend this hike to anyone. This is one of the most spectacular places in Utah and is a must for your next trip to Southern Utah.
